Our Commitment to Their Wellbeing
Healthy Kittens, Happy Homes
At Misty Meadow Ragdoll Cattery, health is not an afterthought — it is the foundation of everything we do. Our breeding cats are health-tested, and every kitten is raised in our home with veterinary oversight, nutrition, daily socialization, and the care that helps them grow into confident, affectionate companions.
We believe families deserve transparency. Below is exactly what we test for, what each kitten goes home with, and how we continue to support you after adoption day.
Health-Tested Ragdolls
Our breeding cats are screened before they produce litters. Each kitten then leaves with preventative care, identification, and a written genetic health guarantee.
Our Standards
From the first weeks of life through go-home day, each kitten is prepared with health, comfort, and lifelong wellbeing in mind.
Regular exams with trusted veterinarians help ensure each kitten is thriving and ready for placement.
Age-appropriate vaccinations and parasite prevention are completed on schedule before your kitten leaves our care.
Breeding cats are tested for 40+ genetic conditions (including HCM and PKD), plus FeLV, FIV, blood type, traits, and genetic diversity.

Questions about diet, litter, behavior, or care? We remain available for the life of your Ragdoll.
Professional Oversight
Our kittens are monitored closely as they grow. Two licensed veterinarians evaluate overall condition, growth, and readiness for placement — one focused on wellness and preventative care, the other on exams, aftercare, and go-home clearance.
Before a kitten leaves Misty Meadow, age-appropriate health checks help confirm they are prepared for the transition into their forever home. If a concern arises at any stage, we pause and address it — because no placement is more important than a kitten’s wellbeing.
Families receive veterinary health records so your own veterinarian has a clear starting point for ongoing care.
Preventative Care
Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming are an essential part of preparing each kitten for life outside our home. We follow a schedule suited to the kitten’s age and stage of development, and we document what has been completed before go-home day.
Specific treatments and timing are based on each kitten’s age and veterinary recommendations, and are reflected in the health records provided at adoption.
Responsible Breeding
Responsible breeding begins with informed choices. Our breeding cats are tested before they produce litters so we can reduce known hereditary risk and send kittens home with a clear medical start.
Testing covers 40+ genetic health conditions, including HCM and PKD, plus Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), blood type, traits, and genetic diversity.
We are happy to walk through these results during the adoption process so you feel confident about the companion joining your home. Details are also reflected in the records that go home with your kitten.
Growing Strong
Proper nutrition is essential for growing Ragdolls. Our kittens receive quality food chosen to support steady growth, healthy digestion, coat condition, and energy for play and socialization.
When your kitten goes home, we provide feeding guidance and information about the diet they are currently eating. Keeping their food consistent during the first transition days helps reduce digestive stress and makes settling in smoother.
If you wish to change foods later, we recommend doing so gradually and are happy to offer guidance based on what has worked well for our cats.
Go-Home Day
We want your first days together to feel supported and clear. Depending on the kitten and documentation completed at placement, your adoption typically includes:
Specific inclusions and veterinary care details are documented in your adoption agreement and health paperwork.
Each kitten leaves with veterinary documentation, a microchip, preventative care already started, and a 1-year genetic health guarantee.
Guarantee terms are governed by the signed Misty Meadow Ragdoll Cattery Adoption Agreement. Please review those terms carefully and establish care with a trusted veterinarian soon after bringing your kitten home.
Ongoing Support
Our relationship with your family does not end on go-home day. We remain available to help with questions as your Ragdoll grows.

Raised With Love
Socialization & Temperament
A healthy Ragdoll is more than a clean bill of health — they also need a calm, confident start in life. Our kittens are raised in a home environment with daily handling, gentle play, and exposure to everyday household sights and sounds.
This early foundation helps kittens settle more comfortably into forever homes and become the loving companions Ragdolls are known for.
